  • Senior Outreach Producer, Shopify

    May 2017 - Present

    As the Outreach Producer on the Computing Education team at Shopify, I have launched the Dev Discover program with community partners, scaling them across the 4 Canadian cities where Shopify is located.

    Dev Discover is an outreach program that creates opportunities for underserved youth in Canada to get them engaged in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) activities. We work with partners, such as Actua, hEr VOLUTION, Technovation, and the Boys and Girls Club, to engage communities, mainly underserved youth, across Canada.

    As program manager, I take care of day-to-day operations, developing hyper-local and national strategies, managing external partnerships and internal stakeholders, and fostering a 200+ employee volunteer network across 8 Canadian offices in 4 cities.

  • Digital Media Producer, Corus Entertainment

    Sept 2015 - April 2017

    I was responsible for specific brand websites (Teletoon, Cartoon Network Canada, Adult Swim Canada & ABC Spark) and their content including video, games and custom content creation.

    Driving digital projects from initial concept to delivery of campaigns across multiple platforms, while managing and motivating teams of creatives, developers and support.

    As Teletoon's digital media producer, I also managed original programming digital initiatives; coordinating with external video game companies and TV producers to manage project workflow and delivery.

    Notable video games developed for Canadian original programming include Counterfeit Cat: Nine Lives, The Bagel and Becky Show: Pancake Panic and The Bagel and Becky Show: Bizarro Hills

  • Technical Lead, Ladies Learning Code

    July - Aug 2015

    As the Technical Lead for the Girls Learning Code & Kids Learning Code summer camps, I was responsible for knowing all the content that was being taught, in order to assist the lead instructors and mentors. I handled the computers that the kids were using & troubleshooted any issues during camp.

  • Video Game Producer, Good World Games

    Sept 2013 - Sept 2015

    Working with remote cross-disciplinary teams, I worked on several iOS and Android games that were paired with non-profit partners.

    I managed project timelines, scope and game documentation, while doing level design and managing a small local team at this startup.

    Notable video games developed are Charades for good, Musingo, and Water Flow.

  • Lead Designer, Good World Games

    Sept 2011 - Sept 2013

    At Good World Games, I honed my mobile game concept development skills, alongside wire framing, storyboarding, UI/UX design and HTML/CSS development.

    Working at this startup set the pace for working efficiently, focusing on quick iterations to build a minimum viable product in order to test quickly with our audience. These skills have stayed with me and regardless of the size of the company I work at, I will always maintain that level of rigour, grit, and passion for what I do.
